Sarah Ann Wells teaches comparative literature and cinema at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She works at the intersection of film and media studies, the historical avant-gardes, theories of labor, and science fiction, with a special interest in South America, the Soviet Union, and the U.S. She is the author of Media Laboratories: Late Modernist Authorship in South America (Northwestern, 2017) and co-editor of Simultaneous Worlds: Global Science Fiction Cinema (Minnesota, 2015). She is currently work on two books: The Labor of Images, Work and Its Discontents in Brazilian Cinema, 1975 to the Present and Eros After Surrealism.
