Kata Beilin is a writer and a Professor at the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and a Faculty Director of LACIS at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has recently co-edited Environmental Cultural Studies Through Time. Her current project focuses on how indigenous knowledges inspire resistance to neoliberal extractivism, and how they help to envision alternative agriculture. Kata is also working on a documentary film titled Milpa Melipona Maya based on her research.
